Our Unique
Story

To best understand how truly different PepperPointe is, we encourage you to learn more about our history.

We are forward-thinking innovators with the ability and desire to go the distance and change the game — offering like-minded doctors protection, security, and support.

When thinking about their futures and the legacy of their practices, our founding doctors searched for an organization that could support their professional and financial goals, while truly preserving doctor ownership and ensuring continuity of care for their patients. This simply did not exist. So, they united, self-consolidating and creating their own dental service organization (DSO).

For us, necessity was the mother of invention. Our necessity was (and continues to be) to preserve long-term quality care for patients, staff and communities.

Our Choice Of Action:
Self-Consolidation

PepperPointe Partnerships was founded in Lexington, Ky. by a group of courageous doctors who were concerned about the changing dynamics in the dental industry. They were determined to create a model that preserved the legacy of doctor-owned practices and protected the future of dentistry.

In 2019, PepperPointe’s first Group Practice was established, consisting of pediatric and orthodontic practices throughout Kentucky. Creating an organization where the doctors owned every aspect of the business — not just the business of the practice, but of the management company itself. This groundbreaking self-consolidation created countless opportunities while building a wall of protection around their practices and communities. Since then, three additional Group Practices have been created with doctor owners who are the board members — not just clinical board members — and make all the decisions for the organizations they own.

Preserving Quality Care
For Generations

Today, PepperPointe Partnerships supports more than 130 office locations, including pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and general dentistry, with more than 110 partner doctors and more than 1,000 team members. Most importantly, PepperPointe is committed to providing generational continuity of care for more than 300,000 patients across Kentucky, New York, and Virginia. This mission of PepperPointe is founded in a belief that the only way to create a long-term commitment to patients is to have a long-term commitment to the practice and community, and the only way to ensure that is to have doctors who own and control the practice and the management company itself. PepperPointe will continue to facilitate the formation of additional Group Practices as they unite with like-minded doctors across the country.

Our First Supported Practice

White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics (WGM) was the first practice supported by PepperPointe Partnerships, and was part of the first self-consolidation and Group Practice supported by PepperPointe in 2019. Over the past 25 years, their practice has grown to 20 offices serving 16 communities in Kentucky. The partners of WGM never set out to build a large practice, but rather decided to remove obstacles and protect themselves from losing autonomy and what they considered to be in the best interest of their patients, partners, and practice. The doctor owners chose to never invoke hope as a business strategy. Instead, they remained fervent in their commitment to advancing our mission.
